I’ve never been a big fan of opera, but a wise bird told me that opera singing, particularly in Italian, in the best way to strengthen up your voice. So I am now dutifully learning ‘Caro Mio Ben’ by Giordani. I don’t know if I’m doing it very well, I don’t know if I sound like an opera singer or a strangled cat, but what I do know is that it is really great to sing! It feels really liberating to sing so loud, so high, so low and so forcefully. I LOVE IT!  None of the neighbours have complained yet and I take that as a good sign.

I am absolutely sure that the wise bird was right and I will find my voice going from strength to strength as a result of dabbling in opera. Even after a few days I am sure I can notice a difference and can’t wait till our next gig on Sunday when I can test it out!

Andy’s coming over for rehearsals later today, I might just blow his head off with my new found skills!
