Saturday afternoon we had a truly spiffing time singing for our lunch at the White Swan  http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/home/pubs/the-white-swan-portsmouth for a charity event raising money for CLIC Sargent  http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/Home a childrens cancer care charity. We were the first act on at lunchtime (we had to go on early because Andy had a Burnt Ice gig in the evening), the pub was full of people eating their dinner and no one choked, no one left in disgust and almost everyone who had listened came to us after we had finished and said how much they had enjoyed the music! Not only had they been treated to Jazz n Blues dinner (our standard finishing song) they had been having their dinner to a Jazz and Blues (and folk) act! Ha ha, I like that! Maybe I should go out more!  I really hope we can play there again, but being a Wetherspoons makes it a bit difficult, we have left the lovely landlady trying to pull strings to make it happen!

Tonight we have been rehearsing with Simon de bass, we are meeting most weeks now to tighten up the band act ready to go live on the 14th Oct for the closing act of the 'Mental Health - Everyone's Business' week. More about that later! Our lovely batteur was absent as he is recording with a country artist this evening. These people who are in demand! Speaking of which we have two gigs in the same day this weekend, something to do with buses springs to mind. What a wonderful opportunity to check out the mellow tones of the Walker Broad set list, either:

Opening for the Southsea Folk and Roots festival Sunday afternoon gig at 1pm at the NBESCA club £8 tickets, we're followed by Mary Jane and The Gigantics two fabulous folk rock bands.

From 4pm at the Jolly Sailor in Southsea, dinner is being served so if you fancy a Jazz n Blues dinner, come on down!
