Live Lounge at the Tanners Arms, Horsham Views: 3114

What a wonderful evening was to be had at the Tanners Arms http://www.thetannersarms.com/ 5th Live Lounge last night! All the acts previously mentioned were truly wonderful.
Lesley Spiers http://www.myspace.com/lesleyspiersmusic who keeps a video blog via You tube too, was a girl after me own heart! 'TV polutes all we are' was one line in one song, so true, so true! Her vocals are beautiful, plaintive and slightly ethereal but with a catchy edge. My favourite of hers had to be 'Shiver' which is a really beautiful song. Excellent indeed.
Andy Hyldon http://www.myspace.com/andyhyldon who hails from the group Reoffender http://www.myspace.com/482083913 was out on his own playing beautiful guitar with a hybrid picking style, excellent voice and, I have to say, gave my hormone levels a little boost! Never seen anyone tune up so quickly, a little bug bear of mine having to wait while guitars are tuned to different tunings taking ages and no one saying anything, didn't have that problem here!
Next up was Anitoine Harindah http://www.facebook.com/antoine.bouzouki who as you may have ascertained from the url there, plays a bouzouki. The effect is that his songs have an eastern feel to them. He described his songs as vaguely spiritual, which appealed and for someone like me who loves to harmonise, it was like being in a room of kaleidoscopic colours listening to him and his bouzouki, so many harmonies to choose from. Really wonderful.
As for us, well I believe we were acceptable although I am never the best judge of that, being so very hard on myself. I find it hard to wait till the end of the evening to play, had had two glasses of wine which may not have been advisable, and was seriously worried about my baby boy who has just had an op. I had had to leave him at home to cope, which of course he did being 19! Perhaps I need to lengthen the apron strings a bit!
The music is reliable but sometimes what I say in between songs can be drivel, I believe it may have been one of those nights! I think I should learn to leave the talking to Andy and not be so gobby. Ha ha, like I could! Oh god I've gone into auto-talk again!....
