Summer Show opening at the Art House Cafe. Views: 2095

Ooh we was so cultured we was! We literally sang for our supper last night at the Art House Gallery Cafe http://www.thearthousesouthampton.co.uk in Southampton. It was the opening of their summer show and they had booked us to entertain whilst the potential art buyers had a browse around. It was so very civilised and the cafe is really lovely, very unusual place right in the middle of Above Bar Street amongst lots of regular shops. It is collective run mainly be volunteers as far as I can gather and a real haven in the midst of the city. I shall definately be going there again.
As this civilised event finished at 9pm and it was devilishly hot we were fair gasping for a drink afterwards so we drove back to mine at speed (legally of course) dumped the gear and legged it to the nearest public house for a beverage. It was really very lovely to be able to sink a cold beer (well, shandy in my case not really a hardened drinker although some may argue!) and relax in the pub. We are almost always working in the pub (music making) then packing up and usually driving, so don't get the chance to imbibe.
What a treat, Andy was a true Bluesman by actually being able to trade the blackcurrant and soda for alcohol! Next step rehab!
Next outing for Walker Broad is the 11th August at the Eastney Cellars. More about that next blog! xxxx
