Ooh la la off to France, Shawsax and a parking permit poem Views: 2249

Been a quieter week this week, the Bluesman, or Lord of the Fingers as one of his favourite guitar students calls him, has gone off on tour in the South of France spreading the joy of Blues as he goes! That was not before I managed to work him, Simon and Blackie like dogs on Monday at rehearsals. We were all baggy eyed after that one!
Tonight I am off to Paris with a friend to live it large across the pond. Very nice indeed, ah ouis! Tres bon! I should get some inspiration from there eh? A while ago I started writing a song about cheese which had a french theme as a parody of an Edith Piaf song which Chris Shaw http://shawsax.yolasite.com/ and I talked about making into a video but haven't got round to yet. This may be the visit that seals the deal. Just giving you the heads up Chris in case you thought you'd got away with it! If you want to see an example of Chris's work look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ilkqB8WGzw this film Plastic Arcadians is great and you may even recognise someone in it!
It's been a while since a poem has been posted so here is a little ditty for you. This was written the day after the first White Swan charity gig mentioned somewhere back there in the blog history!
Parking permit
Sitting there quietly
doing no harm
what sign?
what? No waiting
at any time?
Paying attention but
not to the road
unpack the car
of the musical load
Chatting and laughing
from inside the inn
unaware of my
dastardly
mortal sin
Permission to park?
No not here
try elsewhere
now lighter in pocket
and greyer of hair!
