Screw driver, pre-amp and finishing songs! Views: 2305

I was so impressed with myself last night, there I was playing the old punk ska (it was my other band rehearsals) and the bassist needed a screwdriver. There are four blokes in the band and who had the screwdriver? ME! Ha ha, one up for equality for women. My success was short lived though when my ebay purchase of a pre-amp for my sax arrived to day and Andy pointed out it's the wrong voltage and had I plugged it in to test it out I would have probably blown up my sax mic! Ah well!
Andy put a new video up on You Tube for all to see, it's in the gallery but can also be viewed on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1nDSSJRhfI It is the song If Can Do which I have talked about before, it was written in the garden in the sun and came to me all of a sudden like. I love it when that happens. I learnt to play the bass especially for it and yes Martin and John Roberts I have spelt bass correctly this time!
Andy and I have been rehearsing this evening and have pretty much finished Pointless, our folk rock song. Now I need to figure out how to get my keyboard to split so I can play piano for some of it and pipe organ for the rest! It is sounding really good, if I say so myself! We also finished Small Steps which is one of my autobiographical ones about getting over an old relationship. It is a really fun song with some lyrics that really make me laugh! The other song that is nearing completion is Scott Free which is one I am doing just piano and vocals, the first outing of this song will be at the Auckland Arms on the 23rd and then again at the Thorngate on the 24th. Look forward to seeing you there!
Much love xxxx
