Right proper jam and a You Tube video Views: 2021

What a terrific jam went on today, it was really well attended and there were several new faces. We had a lovely treat from a double bass player, I love that instrument it is so big and deep! A brilliant new guitarist and a banging keyboard player. it made for a really rich musical adventure!

Andy, Simon and I did the newest one 'Undeserver' which is my current favourite. We hadn't worked out the end of the song yet so a car crash at the end was a possibility but in the event it appeared to go off smoothly! I just kept making noise and the boys are so adept at interpreting what I'm going to do it sounded good and got lots of applause! Then we did the song I normally play bass on 'If Can Do', it was lovely to be able to just sing it and not have to worry about playing. Then our version of the Bonnie Raitt song 'Love me like a man' one of my favourites to do although I do struggle to do it during the day, need a sleazy dark pub in the evening for that one!

I had a bit of a finger waggle on the keyboard (no soloing this time, not feeling so brave) though the main player today was Anita, very accomplished keyboard player who has played all over the world but been staying in a bit lately! I call her Hampshires best kept secret! Too good!

Also this week has seen the release of a new video to the wonder that is You Tube, it is of the song 'Bordering on Bedlam' which is written about on the front page and the video can be seen in the gallery or click here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxCpesV3CLo

Looking forward to another week on the journey that is Walker Broad

Hiya, time for me to don the "clever trousers" but Bonnie Raitt's version of "Love Me Like A Man" is probably the best-known cover of a song by the great Chris Smither, we had Chris at The Bullfrog for one of the finest (and inevitably poorly-attended) gigs we ever put on around 2002. Check out Chris' music, he's fantastic and deserves all the credit due to him, here's his Wikipedia page for some more info : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Smither
