All day Sunday we slogged, hard at it. Musical Maelstrom, apart from a brief sojourn to the kitchens associated with each of us to fetch sustenance, we were hard at it for hours and hours. Having been out as a duo for over a year now with a wealth of material behind us (and in front of us) Andy and I decided it was time to branch out and see about getting a band version of our stuff together so as to spread the joy a bit further and, more importantly,  louder!

The newest members of the Walker Broad clan will come as no surprise to anyone who knows us. Alan Blackmore – drummer of some years standing currently drummer for Burnt Ice (Andy’s funky Blues band) and Horace Batchelor (with the hilarious Kevin Eldon), both outstanding bands of local origin and Simon Tufnail – bass player extraordinaire who is also a member of bands mentioned above.

Alan, hereafter referred to as Blackie, is probably going to play just percussion instead of a full kit for the Walker Broad work although I do have some plans to include some thrash metal, so that may change ! Simons style of funky bass is perfect for the music and it amazes me how he can so often just find the right lick to fit in no time at all!

Rehearsals are a laid back affair but make no mistake I shall be working them like dogs, ask Andy he knows!
