At the Dug-Out working like dogs! Views: 1972

Tired, tired, tired, tired! We have been working all day at the Dug-Out http://www.dugoutstudio.co.uk/ laying down the first four tracks for our forthcoming album. What did we discover? The first four songs, which we played a little faster than usual at times, add up to nearly 20 minutes of time. We were intending to have 16 songs on the album. They are not going to fit! Oh dear.
We also discovered that we all have individually unique interpretations of time which, despite randomly managing to coincide at gigs, were trying very hard to avoid each other during the day. We did not let this get in the way and worked, oh so hard, at getting our timepaths to align with rather good results and occasional freight train moments.
I didn't have to use my Korg at the recordings as there is a wonderful Technics electric piano sitting quietly there which was wonderful to use so I just pinged about on that one. Guess who's stage piano that used to be? The Who! I have played where famous fingers have played before - Rabbit I believe was the name of the Who's Lord of the keyboards http://www.rabbitwho.com/ . Very cool indeed!
Geoff, our guide through the maelstrom of buttons and flashing lights, was very hospitable and made me feel right at home. I was a bit nervous, being a studio virgin and all, but not for long. No time for fanciful nonsense, get on with your work girl! A day of much frivolity and a certain amount of gnashing of teeth which I am led to believe is really quite normal.
