Well, it was all aired out there, no one took up the challenge of naming the songs so my purse remained intact, moths and all! There was no food at the inn that night so there were no diners to entertain just a high quality crowd of marvels who had braved the chill night air for an evening of original moosical ramblings from WB. Overall we were quite pleased with the general performance. One song had a very welcome reaction, this was 'That Long day'. We tend not to do it feeling like it still needs some work, but we'd practiced it at the last rehearsal and in it went. It was really well recieved and that makes such a difference, especially when you're a bit nervous about a song. The newer version of Small Steps was really great to perform, I had been feeling wobbly about that one too but since we did the recording last week it just sort of works now. Very pleasing!

We did a couple of covers, the Rosa Henderson song which is a vaudeville blues and the Kirsty MaColl song 'in these shoes' which everyone loves but predominantly it was our own music. The set list for the evening had the genres on the list too, except for those few songs which really can't be easily pinned down to genre. Next to those songs I had written 'Dunno' which made the guys laugh. Something I have to stop doing is introducing our folk song 'On Cliff Hill' as a song about a girl who gets herself knocked up by the Laird of the manor and comes to a bit of a sticky end! Every time I say that, with all innocence I should point out, someone in the audience sniggers loudly! I really can't figure out why!
