Recovery, studio progress and song competition again. Views: 1945

It's taken me over a week to recover from the last week's events! I am still sleeping more than normal (didn't wake up till nearly 11 today!) but otherwise more or less back to normal.
Have spent some time at Simon's (bass player) this week recording a song to enter for the Old persons competition
being run by Terry Wogan et al to raise money for Barnardo's. I wrote a song a while ago called 'Scot-Free' which is a piano and bass piece with vocals over the top. I was quite pleased with it, took us 3 hours to get the basics down and then I uploaded it to the website. If you fancy having a go at the competition more details are available here http://www.oldiecomposers.com/ all proceeds going to a good cause! I know I said never again to competitions but, well, it's in a good cause. I was hoping we could enter a Walker Broad number but they are all too well known now, although Andy and I have just started working on a new number called 'Pissing in the dark' which might yet make it to the deadline!
Today I also spent some time painting the floor of the soon to be studio in my garden. The paint was very smelly and I felt slightly squiffy by the time I had done it, toxic overload! Still be worth it eventually when the studio is ready to use, seems an age away now but the floor is a key element and now that is complete - chocks away!
Next outing for us is to the Golden Lion at Southwick for our first Walker Broad and guests evening on Tuesday 25th. The band will be out again so if you fancy a nice evening out and maybe a play along with us here and there then pop along.
