Jazz n Blues Dinner with rather too much of the sauce! Views: 2219

The band went out on Friday with two very lucious babes to celebrate Simon (bass) and Cath's wedding anniversary. We decided to check out the fare at the Golden Lion in Southwick seeing as we'd liked it so much when we played there. We were not disappointed! The food was too lovely for words, we were so stuffed we practically rolled out of the restaurant and into the bar, helped not inconsiderably by the amount of bottles of red wine that lay languishing on the table as we walked away! Then a swift liquer in the bar and back to Si and Caths for a bit of a sing and play with more wine and brandy too.
'Twas a roarious evening and we have added another song to the repertoire (you see not even an drunken evening is wasted in the world of Walker Broad) that being 'In these shoes' by Kirsty MacColl. Great song, really looking forward to doing that one live. I am even considering playing the horn part in between on my sax. It's just that I am not sure if I can weave it into the singing without having to do both at once! That might be one challenge too far!
