Face the wind and Lovesong at the Minerva Views: 3545

Andy came up with a lovely simple two chord riff yeserday, it was really atmospheric and i couldn't find any lyrics in my folder that would fit the melody i was hearing. So i listened for a few minutes and let my imagination flow with the music. In about 10 mins the words came and now we have a new song called 'Face the Wind' and no, it has nothing to do with flatulence! It is ethereal and lovely, we had been walking in the morning at Titchfield Haven so it was no problem letting my mind wander to find the words. Nice when that happens.
Last night, as part of my continuing effort to heal my ever cynical heart, I went to the Minerva theatre at Chichester Festival theatre http://www.cft.org.uk/index.asp to see 'Lovesong' by Abi Morgan. It was a beautiful portrayal of a couple at various points in their relationship. The younger and older couple share the stage in a cleverly choreographed ebb and flow, telling the tale of then and now without confusion. Using well crafted entwining dance the future and past were woven together in a way that was more powerful than words. I was moved to tears several times. It is on till the 26th Nov, well worth a look if you are lucky enough to get a ticket!
