Pointless, pointless, pointless, pointless! Views: 2071

Spent a very splendid evening at Si's recording this evening. Name of the song being ritually ripped apart and reassembled? Yes, you guessed it 'Pointless'! 'Tis the song I wrote about losing faith in any kind of god and the realisation that life may, in fact, be pointless. It is not necessarily a cheery song but it does move along apace and is actually quite positive although Andy said I sounded like I was having a complete strop at the point where I sing the title of this blog! I get to play wonderful chords with the organ sounds on full pelt for the chorus and, oh how I wish I could let it rip on a real church organ. I played one once in my teens and wow, the feeling of power! Mwahaha....

Last Sunday was the Blues Jam at the Flo and I have been very remiss not mentioning it before. We had a wonderful crowd as always and there are so many talented people coming along now there is barely time for anyone to do more than one or two songs each. We did our version of Kirsty MacColls 'In these shoes' very much fun indeed and it went down very well. Blackie requested we do Jazz n Blues Dinner which made me happy cos I like it when we get requested to do our own songs. Even though he is in the band and may be biased it still made me happy! Smile

I was a grumpy old hag when Andy arrived this evening before the rehearsal/recording but once I had played a few notes and sang a few chirrups I was as right as rain again. The lesson? Do not neglect your music practice it makes life lose it's colour and turns otherwise sweet natured maidens into growling harridans. Laughing
