Fundraiser for Gafirs in Gosport and rehearsing for the Beggars Fayre and German adventures Views: 1781

I am quite ashamed that I only managed one blog last month! I have no idea where the days go and if someone could just arrange for a couple of extra hours to be placed into each day then I would be so grateful! We were out to play on Sunday for a fundraiser event raising money for Gafirs (Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue). The event was in the garden of the Bayside Cabin, the weather was windy but glorious, the crowds were plentiful and appreciative and the setting was just brilliant. As I was singing I was looking out to sea over Stokes Bay and it was quite idyllic. Some of the songs we did were just lovely to sing in that environment. Here and there we had a few dancers, my favourite was a lovely little girl about 3 or 4 in a denim dress who was just jigging about with complete abandon and smiling so sweetly
The event made over £500, so a really worthwhile afternoon which we all enjoyed, everyone wins. We sold the most cds we have ever done in one go too.
So we are getting ready for the next gig (13th July) at Romsey's Beggars Fayre where we are playing at the Old House at Home http://www.theoldhouseathomeromsey.co.uk/events-music-quiz.html at 3.30pm. It looks set to be a great afternoon indeed! Really looking forward to it. This is warming us up nicely for the soon to be occurring trip to pastures German, we are leaving on the 18th of July and heading to Aachen for the first gig on the 19th. It is such a beautiful city, so much history there and as a university city it always feels really lively to me. Very excited, can hardly wait at the same time as being terrified at such a big venture. Summer splendour! Bring it on!!
