Recent additions to the website include: Photographs of The Rhythm Kings at the R.M.A. A few (unfinished) words about the history of the Rhythm Kings Photographs of Burnt Ice playing at the music in the square festival. A Guest book for visitors to leave comments etc. A News Page with info on wants new, both on the site and whats happening in general. Some news about the blues scene: The R.M.A. Tavern has finaly closed it's doors to blues. A change of landlord in March had left the situation in some confusion but unfortunatly Steve has decided to give up the music. A least we know whats going on now and can move on.... More positively The Bullfrog Blues Club has moved home. It now meets most thursdays at The Albert Bar on South Parade Pier. The first gig at the new veneu will be ** Burnt Ice ** on thurday 26th july. ( please note this was originaly advertised as being at the Frog On The Front). From August onwards John Roberts has arranged a a season of local national and internation acts. Includeing Mo'Indigo, Kent Duchaine ,Earl Gaines and Al Garner, and _Canned Heat_ ! See the Bullfrog page on the web-site for more details. Some off topic news: John Roberts ( in his Barking Spider guise ) is organising a folk festival on South Parade Pier on the weekend of 31st Aug, 1st & 2nd Sept. Star guests include Norma Waterson & Martin Carthy. There will be free music morris dancing and general folkyness during then day with ticketed gigs in the evenings (8 ish till late). Something I forgot to mention: Country Joe ( of Woodstock fame ) will be playing at the Bandstand on Southsea Seafront (near Castle fields) with Reet Petite& Gone. They played an excellent gig together at the pier on Wendesday and his will be the last gig of their UK tour. Also playing are Mike & Mishkin, urban hillbillies from New Orleans, they play a mixture of comic hillbily and more serious folk music and are worth seeing in their own right.
